7th House

“We are”
Partnerships, close bonds
How & where you cooperate or compete with others

The next 30° of sky that become visible over the eastern horizon from 12-14 hours after birth (or from the moment a chart is drawn up) is called the Seventh House. This house is also called the Descendent, because it is the part of the sky that is setting over the western horizon at the time of birth (since it is opposite the 1 st House). Each house has a counterpart that is its opposite side of the metaphorical coin, so across from the house of “I” sits the house of “we.” Called “Uxor” or “Wife” in Latin, this house is all about your partnerships and close bonds. Although the name would indicate a romantic partnership, this house can also cover business partners, or others that we interact closely with over a long period of time. Any planet that may occupy this house exerts its influence on your partner bonds, and how you cooperate or compete with others. If there are no planets in this house, it may indicate that you don’t spend a lot of conscious energy in this part of your life, that things in this sector flow without needing extra effort, or that you aren’t working on major life lessons in this area during your current lifetime.
